Internally, the Spheros SW inshore features Shimano's Cold Forged Hagane Gearing to ensure that the reel will last many seasons of fish fighting, while retaining the smoothness Shimano is well known for. Throughout the reel Shimano has treated it with their CoreProtect coating which gives the reel water resistance in the key areas to prevent water intrusion. The Cross Carbon drag system allows the angler to put down smooth and reliable stopping power against big striped bass, bluefish, albies and many other gamefish we see here in the Northeast.
